Senior Pastor Position
East Chain Evangelical Free Church (Granada, MN) is seeking a full-time Pastor. The church's vision and mission statement is to love God, love others, and make disciples of Jesus Christ. The church believes in the Word of God as the only infallible rule and guide for the Christian's faith, doctrine, and life. The purpose of this church is to labor for the salvation of souls, the edification of the saints, and growth in the grace of God.
The Senior Pastor shall know Christ as his personal Savior and be living an exemplary life in accordance with scriptural guidelines for church leaders. He will be sound in his faith and doctrine and qualified to preach and teach the Word of God as led by the Holy Spirit. The Senior Pastor is hired by the congregation. The Pastor and the Overseer Board, led by the Holy Spirit, are together responsible for the spiritual direction and vision of the church.
The Pastor shall proclaim and model a life of prayer, love, and care for the congregation. He shall lead the church in evangelizing the lost and discipling the believers.
Some of the duties of the Senior Pastor will include: preaching and teaching, planning worship services with the Worship Ministry Team, participating in a small group, serving communion at least four times per year with the help of the Deacons, being available to officiate weddings, funerals, baby dedications, and baptisms, providing counseling as needed by the congregation, maintaining office hours, visiting members of the congregation and visitors, leading Pastoral Staff and holding regular staff meetings, meeting at least monthly with the Overseer Board, conducting and overseeing membership classes as needed, conducting annual staff evaluations and participating in his own evaluation conducted by members of the Overseer Board, being active within the community as the Holy Spirit leads, and other duties as developed with leadership.
The Senior Pastor is an ex-officio member of all church committees, except a Senior Pastor Search Committee.
The qualifications include: having 5+ years of teaching/preaching experience, preferably having served in an E-Free church, being 35-55 years old, having grown up in the mid-west and in a rural area, having been married for 5+ years, having kids, some school age, having adult children walking with the Lord or having a plan to bring them back, and wanting to assimilate into the community, being involved with community events, sports, etc.
