3.26 United Way Impact Builder VISTA
The Eco3 VISTA Corps focuses on addressing poverty by addressing food access and systems, community development, education, health and wellness, creative placemaking, energy security, and more. Eco3 VISTA members work with organizations that are deeply embedded in the community to help develop solutions to community challenges through leveraging resources, building partnerships, expanding reach, and improving organizational efficiency. The VISTA member will be part of the Ecolibrium3 Ameri Corps VISTA cohort.
Each member is serving in a unique position; all cohort members will participate in VISTA-specific activities such as regular cohort meetings, collaborative projects, professional development opportunities, and trainings. The member will be placed at the United Way of Carlton and Pine County Area. The organization advances the common good in communities, with a focus on education, income, and health. The member will build the capacity of the homeless youth program, Imagination Library, food programming, and fundraising efforts.
The member will also have the opportunity to make connections with local partners through networking and strengthening relationships.
Member Duties:
The member will build the capacity of the United Way of Carlton and Pine County Area. The member will work on a variety of programs that provide services to community members and support engagement with community partners. The VISTA will
1) Actively develop programs and systems to reduce the impact and incidence of poverty.
2) Conduct landscape analyses to identify potential partnerships.
3) Build program capacity, expand partnerships, and leverage funding toward program sustainability.
4) Research best practices and develop impact evaluation methodologies.
5) Develop professional skills to ensure post-service success.
