As an LPN for the MVH-Preston, you will provide person-centered nursing care for residents in a long‑term care environment by delivering care and skilled procedures within the LPN scope of practice, as defined in the Minnesota Nurse Practice Act and in accordance with current federal, state and Veterans Administration regulations. An LPN administers medications and treatments to residents as ordered by a practitioner and under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

This position is designated as part-time and primarily evening shift. The work schedule will include at least 32 hours per two‑week pay period and may include additional work hours, based on business needs. The position is not initially eligible for healthcare benefits.

• Licensed in Minnesota as a Practical Nurse with no restrictions and in good standing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross, or ability to be certified by date of hire.
• Computer skills sufficient to complete electronic charting, specifically in Point Click Care .
• Ability to communicate effectively, follow instructions, and keep clear and accurate notes and documentation.

• Experience in a skilled nursing facility, long‑term care, or other senior healthcare environment.
• Experience working with Veterans.
• Effective interpersonal skills in establishing and maintaining positive working relationships.

• A Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) background check may be conducted on top finalists and must be passed.
• A Tuberculosis (Mantoux) screening (or chest x‑ray) is required prior to employment.
• Employment reference checks will be conducted on finalists. This may include a review of documentation related to job performance and contact with the applicant’s former employer(s).
