Job Summary

Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care in a dynamic environment that upholds best practices and exceptional customer service. This role emphasizes relationship-based care and adherence to professional nursing standards guided by the ANA Code of Ethics, relevant Nurse Practice Acts, and regulatory requirements. Acute care settings include Medical, Surgery, Emergency, ICU, Childbirth, Pediatric, Operating Room, Perianesthesia, Endoscopy/GI, and Cardiac Cath Lab units.

Responsibilities
  • Effectively manage time and resources, prioritizing critical tasks while balancing short- and long-term objectives.
  • Apply updated clinical knowledge and participate in ongoing education to promote cost-effective, evidence-based care.
  • Make patient care assignments based on nurse expertise, patient acuity, and technical needs.
  • Deliver excellent guest relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and colleagues, embodying core values such as respect, integrity, collaboration, empathy, and courage.
  • Communicate clearly about patient progress and challenges, ensuring a positive and professional experience.
  • Maintain a therapeutic environment by minimizing noise and supporting healthcare students and programs.
  • Prioritize patient and workplace safety by adhering to Just Culture principles, HIPAA, and national safety standards.
  • Engage in professional growth through leadership opportunities, certifications, advanced degrees, and shared governance.
  • Foster teamwork by motivating and mentoring colleagues, encouraging cooperation, and building trust.
Education and Experience
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program or, if unaccredited, a minimum of five years acute care nursing experience.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required within five years of hire; enrollment in an accelerated MSN program is acceptable.
  • Area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, or specialty certifications to be obtained and maintained upon hire.
Licensure and Certifications
  • Current active Registered Nurse license as required by the state nursing board.
Work Shift

3rd Shift, part-time, 24 hours weekly.

This position is located in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest United States.
