Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room
Job SummaryThe Registered Nurse (RN) position's primary focus in the Operating Room and PACU is addressing the needs of the surgical patient, families, and/or significant others preoperatively, intraoperatively and post-operatively. Utilization of critical thinking skills to apply nursing process knowledge to achieve optimal patient outcomes. This position provides direct nursing care to patients of all ages.
CompensationWe are committed to providing wage ranges for all open positions. Please note that the specific compensation for this role will be determined based on experience, education and internal equity considerations. The hourly wage range for this position is: RN ASN, $42.70 — $62.79; RN BSN, $44.41 — $65.30; RN MSN, $46.18 — $67.91. These ranges reflect the base wage for this position.
Qualifications- Current RN license with the Minnesota Board of Nursing, in good standing
- One-year perioperative nursing experience, i.e. scrubbing and circulating for a variety of procedures preferred
- Knowledge of AORN recommended practices preferred
- Knowledge of the function and use of patient monitoring equipment required
- Knowledge of basic surgical technique and the instruments, sutures, and meds used in the OR preferred
- Ability to interpret basic EKG required
- Current BLS, ACLS and PALS OR PEARS certification, must be enrolled in NH+C RQI program and complete the requirements within 90 days of enrollment. Must remain current (complete quarterly assignments prior to the end of each calendar quarter).
- Initial Crisis Prevention Certification (CPI) within six months.
- Workplace Violence education in New Employee Orientation and annually thereafter.

- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written English
- 60 hours per two-week pay period
- Regular shift hours are 6:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
- Weekend call is required approximately every 7th to 8th weekend, beginning Friday afternoon and continuing through Monday morning.
- Weekday call is required approximately every 7th to 8th week, Monday through Thursday, from 3:15 p.m. to 6:45 a.m.
