Paraprofessional: Nurse

Schedule:

7:45am - 3:45pm (Approx. 7 hours per day)

Based on the students transportation needs for the 26-27 school year.

We are seeking a dedicated nurse to provide individualized 1:1 care for two students within the school day. This role involves supporting one student during the morning session and transitioning to a second student for the afternoon. This is a sequential 1:1 position; the nurse will focus exclusively on one student at a time to ensure the highest quality of care.

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Licensed School Nurse (LSN) and district policies, is responsible for implementation of individual student health plans, caring for ill and injured students, medication administration and maintaining student health records. Works with students, parents, and staff to maintain the health and wellbeing of all.

Work Requirements and Characteristics:

Education/Certification/Licensure:

• Graduate of an accredited LPN or RN program
• Current LPN or RN license
• Current CPR and First Aid Certification

Experience:

• Two plus years experience in a healthcare setting preferred
• Previous experience working with an electronic medical record system preferred

• Basic office equipment knowledge
• Basic internet knowledge
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

• Ability to work with students of various ability levels

• Knowledge of relevant health laws, guidelines and rules pertaining to student health care and nursing care services
• Ability to follow district policies and procedures pertaining to healthcare services and operations
• Ability to exercise confidentiality in handling district information

Appropriate licensure required.
