Travel Nurse Source  is working with United Health Care Staffing, Inc. to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Baudette, Minnesota, 56623!

Registered Nurse - Med Surg/ED

Location: Baudette, MN

Start Date: 05-18-2026

End Date: 08-17-2026

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day/night shifts:
Day 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM;
Night 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM. Rotates between days and nights, every 3rd weekend (Friday night through Sunday night) and every 3rd holiday. Schedules posted 4-6 weeks in advance; typical orientation ~1 week.

Hours per Week: 36

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Admit, discharge and transfer patients safely and compassionately
  • Assess patients, titrate medications and manage drips per protocol
  • Start IVs and care for PICC/Ports with confidence
  • Monitor telemetry, interpret EKGs and document findings in Meditech
  • Respond to codes (cardiac, respiratory, stroke, sepsis) and trauma activations
  • Float between Med Surg and the Emergency Department as patient needs require
  • Collaborate with CNAs, hospitalists and ancillary teams to coordinate care and transfers
  • Facilitate flight transport/transfer processes while adhering to EMTALA regulations
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and communicate changes in condition
Education
  • Valid RN license (MN) — ADN or BSN acceptable
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS and TNCC certifications required
Knowledge & Skills
  • Telemetry monitoring and EKG interpretation (RNs read and document their own strips)
  • Mindray monitor operation and full EKG completion
  • Medication titration and management of common drips
  • IV therapy, PICC/Port care and vascular access troubleshooting
  • Hamilton T1 ventilator basics, BiPAP and high-flow oxygen familiarity
  • Emergency Department workflow, trauma response and code management
  • Flight transport processes and EMTALA awareness
  • Strong clinical documentation skills in Meditech EMR
  • Ability to work autonomously and prioritize in low-staff situations

Requirements
  • Current RN license (Minnesota) — ADN or BSN acceptable (BSN not required)
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC
  • Minimum 1 year acute care experience (Med Surg or Emergency Department preferred)
  • Experience with telemetry monitoring and EKG interpretation
  • Demonstrated ability to titrate drips (insulin, amiodarone, Cardizem, vasopressors)
  • Proficient IV start skills and experience with PICC/Port care
  • Comfort working independently with minimal staff and collaborating with CNAs
  • Familiarity with Meditech EMR or similar electronic charting systems
