ScheduleEmployees are not regularly scheduled. PRN/Casual nurses (CNA/NAR, TMA, LPN, RN) must complete no less than 24 hours each month, including 8 weekend hours and 16 weekday hours. Weekday hours are paid at the regular rate with shift differential; weekend hours are eligible for incentive pay. Weekend incentive pay applies Friday 2:00 PM to Sunday 10:30 PM. PRN/Casual employees must attend monthly employee forums, in‑services, and other mandatory meetings set by the department.
PositionSummary
The CNA provides direct care to residents while under the supervision of a licensed nurse, RN or LPN. The Care Center CNA delivers care for adult and geriatric patients in the Madison Healthcare Services’ skilled nursing facility.

Duties / Responsibilities- Provides direct care services for residents, including dressing, bathing, grooming, food and fluids, exercise and walking, elimination, mental stimulation, vital signs, and filling supplies in personal care basins.
- Assists residents to attain highest degree of functional independence.
- Communicates with residents in a kind and caring manner; listens to their concerns and gathers necessary information.
- Takes immediate action to meet residents’ requests or needs.
- Provides tub bath and nail care.
- Assists the Therapy Department as time permits.
- Assists with helping residents eat at meal times.
- Listens to reports at the beginning of each shift, clarifies assignment, reviews care plan/Kardex for assigned residents, and suggests changes as needed.
- Observes and reports resident changes to the charge nurse.
- Completes residents’ ADLs in Point Click Care, including appetite, target behaviors, and bowel movements.
- Participates in performance improvement teams as requested and offers recommendations to improve quality of care.
- Attends and actively participates in department meetings; obtains information from meeting minutes if absent.
- Alters practice when indicated by PI/QA monitoring.
- Meets continuing education requirements for registry and attends mandatory in‑services.
- Recognizes safety hazards and takes corrective actions; seeks assistance when needed.
- Performs work safely, without causing harm or risk to self, others, or property.
- Current registered or eligible to register as a Nursing Assistant in the State of MN.
