Job Summary
The Nursing Assistant (NA) provides resident‑centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents in long‑term care, working under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). The NA is responsible for infection prevention and control, personal protective equipment use, and communication of residents’ changing conditions to nursing staff.

Salary Range: $20.00 – $25.50/hr
Sign‑On Bonus: $5,000
- Assist residents with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and feeding, including vital sign measurement.
- Support residents in transferring, repositioning, and walking using proper transfer techniques and equipment.
- Perform range‑of‑motion and passive exercises as directed.
- Help with food preparation and dining, ensuring a positive dining experience.
- Document resident interactions, care outcomes, behavior, activity, and dietary data.
- Communicate changes in resident condition and care concerns to the charge nurse.
- Collect non‑invasive body fluid specimens and record vital signs.
- Assist with housekeeping and laundry services to maintain residents’ living areas.
- Support wellness and recreational programs, encouraging resident participation.
- Participate in departmental or organization committees and task forces as needed.
- High school graduate or GED (preferred).
- Minimum age of 16; prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long‑term care preferred.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required; must be obtained within four months of start or be enrolled in a state‐approved training program.
- Completion of yearly departmental competency testing and maintenance of continuing education credits (minimum 12 hours annually).
- Certification or registration with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry where applicable.
- Depending on responsibilities, may require a valid driver’s license and medical clearance for Sanford Category II driving duties.
