Wage: $22.50-$25.00/hr + shift differentials DOE

Differentials: $2 PM | $3 NOC

Status:
Full-time or Part-time

Sign-On Bonus
  • $3,000 Full-time NOC CNA ONLY
  • $1,500 Part-time AM, PM or NOC CNA
Shift Options

AM: 6:00 AM-2:30 PM

PM: 2:15pm-10:45pm

NOC: 10:30 PM-6:30 AM

(Includes every other weekend and holiday)

Job Summary
  • NA/R is a helpful, caring, compassionate, positive, patient, hardworking, resilient, caregiver, co-worker, team player, hairdresser, liaison, and a friendly face for our residents.
  • The NA/R is responsible for assisting the residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADL’s) through daily nursing care as described in each resident’s plan of care.
  • The NA/R carries out simple treatment procedures, reports to and follows the instructions of the charge nurse.
  • The NA/R works closely with the activities department, volunteers, housekeeping, and all other ancillary departments.
  • NA/R’s frequently have contact with the resident’s family members.
Qualifications

Position Requirements:

  • The state of Minnesota requires all nursing assistants/registered to have completed a Minnesota approved course with completion of the final test for certification. The nursing assistant must be on the Minnesota Board of Nursing Registry upon hire or completion of class and test within 4 months of hire.
  • The NA/R must have at least a minimum of 12 hours of in-service education as set forth by the Minnesota Board of Nursing. A minimum of 12 hours annual of education will be provided by GVCC.
  • Must attend at least 75% of all monthly nursing assistant meetings.
  • Ability to communicate with other staff members and department managers.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • The NA/R must have the ability to communicate with others with a variety of differing values, attitudes, capabilities, and dispositions, while demonstrating a friendly and cooperative attitude.
  • Must be able to work effectively as a team and work independently.
  • Must be able to relate information concerning a resident’s condition.
  • Must be able to cope with mental and emotional stress of the position.
  • Must be able to function independently, professionally, and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies.
  • The must be able to meet the following physical requirements to complete duties listed in the job description:
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crouch, and kneel occasionally.
  • Must be able to twist, reach above shoulder height, push/pull wheelchair or cart frequently.
  • Must be able to be on their feet for most of the shift as assigned.
  • Must be able to push, pull, move, or lift a minimum of 50 pounds to a minimum height of 4 feet and be able to push, pull, move or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
  • Must be able to lift 50-200 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to read and understand handwriting, regular print and directions. Must be able to write in a legible manner. Vision must be appropriate to read regular 10-point print with or without corrective lens.
  • Must be able to hear sounds of resident calls for assistance when the resident is not within their sight.
  • Must be able to work independently up to 100% of the time.
  • Must be able to work every other weekend and holiday.
