Job Duties
Oversight and responsibility for infection control, employee health, and nursing education related activities and participate in the organization’s employee safety programs. Directs the efforts of infection control activities to ensure compliance with related regulatory standards including national, state, CMS, and other agencies. Responsible for and working with hospital leaders and staff to improve infection control systems and outcomes. Provides education and evaluation to nursing and patient care staff and facilitates evidenced-based practice.
Collaborates with medical practitioners to incorporate nursing processes into the patient plan of care. Performs direct specialty nursing services to patients as required, ensuring adherence to CMS standards and all related policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications
- Current RN Licensure
- CIC within five years of hire
- ADN or BSN in Nursing
- One (1) year experience of working in a healthcare setting
Preferred Qualifications
- Current CIC
- Master’s degree in health-related field, prefer strong analytical background.
- Two (2) years of experience in the area of Infection Control or Employee Health in a hospital setting. Strong computer and research skills to ensure one remains up to date with new developments, best practices and standards of care within the field of healthcare.
