American Traveler is hiring an Emergency Department RN for a 13-week critical access hospital assignment requiring MN RN licensure and 2+ years of ER experience.

  Acute care setting within a Critical Access Hospital (CAH) Emergency Room
• Low-volume unit seeing fewer than 300 patients per month, staffed with 1 nurse per shift
• Patient population includes diverse cultural groups such as Latino and Micronesian communities
• Occasional pediatric and rare psychiatric patients, with complex peds cases transferred to Children's in St. Cloud or St. Cloud Hospital
• MI and CVA patients are typically transferred out
• No locked rooms or dedicated security, though facility is capable of lockdown
• Uses MEDITECH EMR
• Utilizes Plum IV pumps and Nihon Kohden cardiac monitors
• 12-hour rotating day/night shifts
• Every 3rd weekend rotation required

• Active MN RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• BSN not required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC
• MEDITECH EMR experience preferred
• Must meet MN NETStudy fingerprint requirements

• Provide emergency care across a wide range of patient acuities in a small critical access hospital setting
• Work as part of a lean staffing model with one nurse covering the unit per shift
• Complete 12 hours of orientation prior to starting the assignment
