SUMMARYMaintain golf course and grounds appearance of Ruttgers Bay Lake Resort’s 18-hole and 9-hole par 3 course. Supervise maintenance and repair of irrigation system and mechanical equipment fleet. Interact daily with guests and resort staff. Assist in leading the grounds crew daily and navigating course projects and advancements. This year‑round full‑time position continues throughout the winter months, shifting projects to resort activities such as resort and HOA snow removal, maintaining an ice rink for public use, grooming trails on the golf course, and splitting firewood for fire pits across the resort.
EDUCATIONAND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of a two‑year degree in turf management preferred.
- Previous golf course/grounds maintenance experience, with demonstrated success.
- Experience leading and managing a team for day‑to‑day operations as well as course improvement projects.
- Some working knowledge and understanding of the mechanics for equipment and routine maintenance recommended but not required.
- Ensure that all golf courses are maintained to the highest degree and resort expectations.
- Manage daily maintenance of the golf courses, ensuring written course standards are achieved or exceeded.
- Maintain and repair all golf carts used throughout the resort.
- Properly apply all chemicals and fertilizers used throughout the golf courses; keep accurate records and inventory.
- Assist the Superintendent with any and all aeration, irrigation, landscaping, etc.
- Operate and train new hires on mowers, tractors, pickup trucks, carts, sandpros, string trimmers, greens rollers, chainsaws, back‑pack blowers, and other equipment responsibly.
- Direct and coordinate the activities of all department employees during day‑to‑day duties and projects alongside the superintendent.
- Plow and shovel snow during winter months.
- Maintain and resurface the public ice rink.
- Groom public trails throughout the golf course.
- Assist the lead arborist in removing trees, brush, and splitting firewood.
- Maintain a mindset of constant improvement to make each day better than the previous.
- Enforce good safety practices and standards for all employees.
- Ensure a “guest first” attitude among team members and provide a friendly guest‑contact experience.
- Foster positive working relationships and communication with all departments.
- Any and all other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS- Must be able to pass Ruttger’s background check.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Pesticide license required or obtainable within 6 months of employment.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, sit, kneel, lift, push, pull, reach with arms and hands, and move objects weighing up to forty (40) pounds.
