Description of the Position:

The STOGROW student farmers learn about organic farming methods and best practices in order to grow vegetable crops to be sold to the campus food service. The one acre farm enables students to experiment with different crops and develop plans to maintain/improve soil fertility, as well as maintain a manual for future farmers.

Physical and Environmental Factors:

This position requires crouching, kneeling/crawling, stooping, twisting/pivoting, climbing/balancing, reaching overhead, grasping/handling, pushing/pulling, lifting and carrying objects up to 50 lbs., driving, operating hand tools, and operating equipment or machinery to perform the essential functions. It also requires exposure to loud noise, respiratory factors, vibrations, wet or humid conditions indoors, and proximity hazards, as well as rare exposure to chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, and heights or cramped quarters to perform the essential functions.
