Maple Lake Veterinary Clinic is looking for a Licensed Veterinary Technician or Experienced Veterinary Assistant!

Position Details

Role: Licensed Veterinary Technician or Experienced Veterinary Assistant
Status: Full-time
Salary: $20 - $26 per hour (depending on experience)
Schedule: Four-day work week, typically 7:30 a.m.

-5:00 p.m.; rotating Saturday shift at the Kimball clinic approximately once every seven weeks from 7:30 a.m.

-2:00 p.m.; no nights or holiday hours

Maple Lake Veterinary Clinic is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician or Experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our busy, fast-paced small animal practice in Maple Lake, Minnesota. We are looking for a veterinary professional who communicates clearly, works well as part of a team, and genuinely enjoys helping clients and their furry family members.

Our three-doctor clinic cares for dogs and cats and is part of the Animals Inc family of veterinary practices serving Central Minnesota. We are proud of the thoughtful medicine, personal service, and positive experience we provide to our patients and the people who love them.

What Our Veterinary Technicians Do

  • Collaborate with the veterinary team to maintain an efficient workflow and positive hospital culture
  • Provide compassionate, high quality nursing care from patient intake through discharge
  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and medical procedures
  • Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and prescribed treatments
  • Perform venipuncture, intravenous catheter placement, fluid therapy, and sample collection
  • Complete in house laboratory testing
  • Position patients and obtain diagnostic radiographs
  • Prepare patients, instruments, and equipment for surgical and dental procedures
  • Assist with surgical and dental procedures from preparation through recovery
  • Monitor anesthesia, patient vital signs, and overall patient condition during procedures
  • Provide attentive postoperative and recovery care
  • Clean, maintain, and prepare surgical and dental instruments
  • Maintain complete and accurate medical records and patient charts
  • Educate clients about medications, discharge instructions, preventive care, and ongoing patient needs
  • Communicate with clients using compassion, clarity, and confidence
  • Help maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked treatment areas
