Job Details
A growing food manufacturing company in the Marystown, Minnesota area is seeking an experienced Food Safety & Quality Assurance Manager to lead and strengthen its food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance programs.
This is a key leadership opportunity for a food safety professional who enjoys working closely with production and operations teams and has a strong understanding of HACCP, SQF, PCQI, food microbiology, auditing, and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate will be both strategic and hands-on, with the ability to take ownership of food safety programs while helping foster a strong culture of quality and accountability throughout the organization.
What You'll Do
Lead and manage food safety and quality assurance programs to ensure compliance with applicable local, state, federal, and international regulations.
Develop, implement, maintain, and continuously improve HACCP, SQF, and other food safety and quality programs.
Oversee the HACCP program, including identification, evaluation, and control of food safety hazards.
Conduct food safety and quality risk assessments and develop preventive measures to mitigate identified risks.
Lead internal audits, inspections, and food safety assessments.
Identify potential risks and ensure corrective and preventive actions are effectively implemented.
Partner closely with production and operations teams to integrate food safety and quality standards throughout manufacturing processes.
Provide training, guidance, and ongoing support to employees regarding food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory requirements.
Investigate customer complaints and food quality or safety issues, determine root causes, and implement appropriate corrective actions.
Maintain accurate documentation and records related to food safety, quality assurance, audits, inspections, and corrective actions.
Stay current on regulatory changes, industry trends, and emerging food safety practices.
Update policies, procedures, and programs as needed to maintain compliance and operational excellence.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and accountability surrounding food safety and quality.
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Microbiology, Food Processing, or a related field.
5+ years of food safety and quality assurance experience within a food manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of HACCP, SQF, PCQI, and food safety management systems.
HACCP certification required.
PCQI certification required.
SQF Practitioner certification preferred.
Proven experience managing food safety and quality assurance programs.
Experience conducting audits, inspections, risk assessments, and corrective/preventive actions.
Strong understanding of food microbiology and its application within food manufacturing.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with production and operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with quality assurance software, documentation systems, and related tools preferred.
