Glasshouse Technician

A Glasshouse Technician position is available courtesy of Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences. In this role, you will contribute to the business by providing plants and seeds for use in chemical screening research. This research plays a critical role in the invention and development of new active ingredients, while also supporting the company's existing range of pesticide products.

** Role Purpose*
* This position supports Weed Control Research Biology on the SPS (Secondary Profiling Screen) platform by spraying and maintaining plants in the glasshouse environment to deliver timely, high-quality biological data to herbicide research projects.

The position operates within the Trialing Operations platform in Technical Support - Weed Control and is responsible for maintaining herbicide bioassays in the glasshouse using both established and novel weed screening methods to support project decisions.

+ Spray and maintain plants under glasshouse conditions throughout the duration of testing

+ Ensure work is completed with precision, accuracy, and efficiency

+ Perform all duties in accordance with Syngenta Health, Safety, and Environmental policies

+ Operate effectively in a high-throughput team environment

+ Identify issues or non-conformities and report findings appropriately

+ Maintain accurate records and ensure databases remain current

+ Assist with training related to daily operational tasks when required

+ Demonstrate a strong work ethic and consistency in performance

+ Proactively identify problems and contribute to solutions

+ Show initiative in improving workflows and operational processes within the screening platform

+ Ensures samples are prepared and delivered on time

+ Resolves routine issues with minimal supervision or guidance

+ Requires prior relevant experience in a research, laboratory, agricultural, or related environment

** Entry Level*
* + Follows defined procedures to operate equipment and complete trial work

+ Ensures samples are available and delivered according to schedule

+ Resolves routine issues with supervisory guidance and approval

+ Requires little or no prior relevant experience

** Working Environment*
