About The Job- The incumbent will plan and organize routine and non‑routine research and development activities concerning the chemical, biological, and physical nature of food.
- These activities evaluate and improve the quality of existing products and processes and develop new products and processes by meeting key sensory attributes.
- The incumbent will plan, organize, and complete research and development projects of modest scope, selecting appropriate methods and assisting in experiment design.
- Interface frequently with internal departments (Marketing, Purchasing, Engineering) and support multiple product categories.
- Prepare prototypes and line‑extension products using a research lab or pilot plant.
- Work independently and with teams – both R&D peers and cross‑functional partners – to develop technical solutions of moderate scope.
- Order and ship materials/samples for prototypes, selecting and evaluating raw materials.
- Maintain the R&D kitchen with accurate, up‑to‑date records and laboratory notebooks.
- Design and execute storage studies, including product and package performance under various conditions.
- Operate and maintain research lab equipment, and interface with outside labs, universities, ingredient suppliers, and equipment vendors as needed.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications- Education:
A bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts, Food Science, or a related field. - Preferred Education:
HACCP training. - Preferred Experience:
Five or more years of product development experience. - Must be 18 years or older.
- Valid, current driver’s license.
- Knowledge of food safety procedures and protocols.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time in front of a computer.
- Office and laboratory environment.
- Wear suitable personal protective equipment.
- May be exposed to extreme temperatures, potentially hazardous chemicals, and vibration.
- May need to work near moving mechanical parts.
