Food Service Assistant – FT Days – Long-Term Care (LTC)

Facility: GSS MN Inter Falls.

Schedule:

Full Time, Day shift (6:00 am – 2:00 pm). Every other weekend and holiday rotation required.

Salary: $17.10 – $20.85 per hour. Weekly

The Food Service Assistant is responsible for monitoring and recording proper temperature of food, setting up and maintaining a clean and sanitized serving area, preparing and serving food items, restocking food areas, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, receiving payment using a computerized register, and other related responsibilities. The role complies with Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines. Provide outstanding customer service and effectively communicate with patrons and co‑workers, demonstrating the ability to establish effective working relationships.

Maintain quality control standards. Operate equipment such as grills, beverage machines, toasters, ice cream dispensers, cash registers (manual and computerized), steam equipment, dishwashers, telephones, refrigerators, and freezers. Preferably, candidates should have experience working in the food industry. Must be able to work independently when necessary, possess a strong understanding of food safety and sanitation processes, and be able to stand for the majority of the day and walk long distances.

• Minimum age 16 years.
• Previous customer service experience, retail counting and reconciliation of money, and knowledge of food service preferred.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• On-the-job training will be provided.
• Depending on location, Serv Safe certification may be required within a designated timeframe.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) may be required depending on location requirements.
