We’re seeking an Assistant Store Manager to join our team to help with store operations, customer service and team development.
Responsibilities- Assist with store functions and day‑to‑day store activities.
- Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns.
- Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom and sales floor as needed, ensuring seasonal areas are maintained.
- Perform opening and closing procedures as required.
- Process all corporate directives including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey, information requests, and other store activity communications.
- Maintain promotional effectiveness of store‑front fixtures and displays.
- Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash register deposits and receipts).
- Implement loss‑prevention practices and maintain organized stockroom and well‑stocked sales floor to company standards.
- Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
- Adhere to policies, procedures, and safety guidelines, ensuring all store associates follow them.
- Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
- Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment while interacting professionally and friendly with customers, associates, and leaders.
- Ensure cleanliness throughout the store, including restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, and maintaining a neat, presentable environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; reading, interpreting, and explaining operational directives required.
- Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
- Physical capability to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
- Ability to work in a high‑energy, team environment required.
