Part Time Cashier

Job Overview

Cub Northfield is looking for a dedicated individual to fill a part‑time cashier position. Cashiers at Cub follow front‑end checkout procedures in all transactions, maintaining positive customer relations and expedient processing of all orders. This position requires ongoing customer interaction, providing prompt, courteous and accurate service.

• Assist customers and ensure proper service levels and courtesy from all associates
• Perform product scanning and processing of customer orders accurately, efficiently and promptly
• Handle all forms of tender and coupons properly
• Handle all voids, returns, refunds and exchanges accurately
• Respond to customer questions or requests
• Assist with front‑end maintenance and cleaning

• Operate equipment such as scanner, register, check‑approval machine, coupon machine, intercom and calculator
• Be able to stand for long periods of time
• Possess strong memorization, reading, writing and math skills
• Provide ongoing customer interaction with prompt, courteous and accurate service
• Exercise good judgment; may occasionally work without immediate supervision
• Understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions; write identifying information; request supplies verbally or in writing
• Work shifts of varying length and time, including nights, weekends and holidays
• Be 16 years of age or older

• Lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs
• Walking on uneven ground
• Reaching, bending, turning and performing repetitive motions

Actual pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including but not limited to education, experience, training and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements.
