Meat Cutter Apprentice

Position Overview:

This role involves preparing various meat cuts and related products according to company standards to support store profitability and customer satisfaction.

• Cut, weigh, and package meats such as steaks and chops for individual servings.
• Produce value-added products following established guidelines.
• Cut, trim, bone carcass sections to create cooking cuts.
• Follow recipes to grind, tray, and make sausages and other products.
• Price, wrap, and label meat products accurately.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked department.
• Assist with product ordering and stock replenishment.
• Familiarize with all products, providing suggestive selling to customers.
• Adhere to safety, food safety, and PPE guidelines.
• Support customer service and may assist in other departments as needed.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Preferred: 1+ year retail or related experience, especially in meat cutting or as an apprentice.
• Ability to read, write, interpret documents, and perform basic math.
• Attention to detail and physical stamina.
• Physical & Environment Requirements:
  Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, and work in varied temperatures and environments, including exposure to outside weather and retail store noise levels.
