Description
As an Account Manager with Liberty Paper, you will be dedicated to growing the market share of our Dream Works Coating Solution Division of business. You will manage a defined territory of distribution and direct-to-consumer clients while driving new sales and market opportunities. Your primary focus will be a split performance expectation of 70% in the current DCS target market (corrugated), while 30% will be spent in the non-corrugated space.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Define and execute strategic sales plans and actions to achieve annual sales and profit metrics for the assigned territory that align with the Dream Works Coating Solutions Division of Liberty Paper for new and existing accounts
* Manage customers with frequent meetings, follow-ups, strategic pricing and supply programs and frequent product updates
* Drive market growth through distribution development plans and strategies for the Dream Works division of Liberty Paper
* Serve as a product knowledge resource for customers and the DCS technical team
* Forecast and plan monthly and annual account goals, including, but not limited to, financial and operational performance goals, planned purchasing agreements and market sales potential
* Define new business objectives that align with Dream Works Coating Solutions annual growth objectives that foster a "Hunting" vs. "Maintaining" sales approach
* Manage territory pricing programs with existing and new customers
* Identify market and sales opportunities that align with Dream Works Coating Solutions core product offering and services
* Team with product development and engineering to create a "pull-through" strategy for new opportunities leading to a timely close
* Provide relevant market updates to management such as trends or anticipated changes that may change current or fiscal budgeting
* Utilize Microsoft Dynamics CRM system for all customer communication and project management
* Other duties, as assigned
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience of 5+ years relevant industry experience
* Technical knowledge - must be able to understand the Coating business, be able to troubleshoot with customers and provide engineered solutions on behalf of customers
* A proven "hunter" mentality and a history of identifying new opportunities and driving them to a successful close or conclusion
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with customers, senior management, sales, plant, and corporate team members
* Exceptional judgment and creative problem-solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills
* Experience in sales pipeline management and project management
* Ability to prioritize tasks based on strategy in an ever-changing environment
* Ability to work independently and organize workload into items such as sales plans, budgets, and relevant accountability methods
* Meticulous and organized
* Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
* Requires in-depth knowledge and experience; uses best practices and knowledge to improve products or services
* Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective using existing solutions
* Frequently requires logical and analytical reasoning skills, seasoned judgment, creativity, and ingenuity
* Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience
* Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time or more as needs require to visit key customers, prospects, and attend relevant trade shows and events
* The ideal candidate will be located in the Western US or centrally located to ensure ease of travel
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
* Bachelor's degree in Paper Science, Packaging Design, Printing or Paper Sales is preferred
* Relevant experience in the packaging industry or an adjacent market
* Continuous improvement mindset and demonstrated skills in facilitating process and cultural changes
