This is a full‑time position that typically reports to the Compliance Director/Corporate RSO or Customer Service/Waste & Logistics leadership, depending on organizational structure.

Core duties and responsibilities
  • Customer support / coordination:
Serve as primary customer contact by phone and email for inquiries on services, pricing, waste acceptance, profiling status, scheduling, and shipment status, routing technical questions to appropriate staff as needed.
  • Communication with clients:
Update clients on a timely basis regarding lab analysis status, profiling and waste acceptance, permits, transport, and final disposal; ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and clear communication.
  • Project management:
Use workflow and project‑management tools (e.g., Click Up or similar), email, and verbal communication to effectively communicate upcoming deadlines, deliverables, and project status with clients and internal teams.
  • Waste sampling and profiling:
Sample and profile waste streams using field sampling data, surveys, and laboratory reports, and assist with selecting appropriate receiving facilities under the direction of waste and logistics leadership.
  • Documentation and pricing:
Use disposal‑vendor systems and paperwork processes to submit and manage waste profiles, obtain waste pricing, and support development of project estimates.
  • Shipping documentation:
Prepare and process shipping documentation, including hazardous‑waste manifests, bills of lading, LDR forms, radioactive material shipping papers, and import/export notifications in accordance with RCRA, DOT, Class 7, and facility‑specific requirements.
Requirements, certifications, and skills

Note: The following education, experience, and training reflect the responsibilities of the role as described.

  • Education and experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Sciences, Health Physics, Environmental Sciences, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience in hazardous waste, radiation safety, or environmental services may be considered.
  • Experience:

At least 2 years of experience in hazardous waste, lab analysis review, and profiling waste at disposal facilities, plus 1 or more years in customer service, logistics, or administrative support roles.
  • NORM/TENORM:

Technical and regulatory training
  • Certifications:

Ability to obtain and maintain Class 7 radioactive material shipper, RCRA hazardous‑waste shipper, and DOT Hazmat Shipper certifications.
  • Regulations:
Working knowledge of RCRA hazardous‑waste regulations (waste characterization, waste codes, generator categories, LDRs) and DOT hazardous materials regulations for classification, packaging, marking, labeling, placarding, and documentation.
  • Radiation concepts:
Exposure to, or training in, radioactive materials concepts (activity units, half‑life, radiation types, contamination vs. exposure) and relevant regulatory frameworks (NRC/Agreement State) as they impact shipping, profiling, and disposal documentation.
Skills and competencies
  • Communication:
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with clients, regulators, team members, and vendors; able to create reports, daily logs, SOPs, and other documentation.
  • Data management:
