The Opportunity

Talon Metals Corp is seeking a Geophysics Technician to support its exploration initiatives in Aitkin County, Minnesota and Baraga County, Michigan. This role involves close collaboration with the geoscience team to execute geophysical surveys and data collection as part of ongoing drilling programs and resource expansion efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) protocols.
  • Set up, calibrate, and operate geophysical survey equipment (e.g., magnetometers, EM systems, GPS).
  • Collect geophysical and field data with detailed documentation.
  • Support field logistics , including equipment transport and site preparation.
  • Perform data downloading, quality control, and basic analysis.
  • Collaborate with geologists, geophysicists, and field crews.
  • Drive safely to and from field sites.
  • Assist with camp and general field operations as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent experience preferred in Geophysics, Earth Sciences, Geological Engineering, or a related field .
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs and hike in rugged terrain.
  • Comfortable working in remote outdoor environments, including near rivers, wetlands, and forests.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to organize and maintain data.
  • Willingness to work in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to commute or temporarily stay near the Michigan and Minnesota project site.
