Location DescriptionMichael Foods, Inc. is located in LeSueur, Minnesota, known as the Valley of the Jolly Green Giant. The town is home to a historic downtown, variety of housing, a great school district, fishing, apple orchard and a friendly community.
ResponsibilitiesPrimary purpose is to perform and provide work direction to Inside/Outside Crews ensuring Standard Operating Procedures are followed and Company standards are met. Will assist Pullet Supervisor in the management of personnel, work schedules and/or projects.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management.
- Maintain regular and consistent attendance in relation to production scheduling and/or time volunteered for.
- Responsible for mortality and weights in all barns. Ensures weekly weights are done on time, entered in computer and e‑mailed to LP Office.
- Ensure house people are following light schedules and the SOP book.
- Ensures barns are clean and sets up chick house.
- Follow all LOTO safety procedures and ensure all safety shields are in place.
- Monitors temperatures and air quality multiple times throughout the day.
- Completes and communicates mortality sheet, weight calculator sheet and weight graphs. Communicates unusual mortality.
- Will perform blood testing and salmonella swabbing. Monitor medication as needed.
- Will optimize feed for pullet weights.
- Monitors pox takes and mixes vaccine for outside crew and maintains vaccinator charts.
- Assigns work schedules and duties as needed to section personnel. Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMPs, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills- Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
The pay range for this position is $21.42 to $27.54 per hour.
