Job OverviewWe are looking for a dedicated loss prevention associate for our lumber yard. The role focuses on ensuring that customers have purchased the correct products and preventing theft. The position is a part‑time 2nd shift role, primarily on weekends. Pay is $21/hr.
Shift TimingSunday: 2:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Friday & Saturday: 1:15 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
- Check vehicles at entry and exit to verify product ownership and match against purchase orders.
- Monitor premises to prevent theft, violence, or rule infractions.
- Examine doors, windows, and gates to ensure proper security function.
- Warn violators of premises rules and regulations.
- Intervene with suspicious or criminal acts.
- Request emergency personnel for high‑risk situations.
- Use hand‑held computers to check orders and count purchased products.
- Good understanding of computers and handheld devices.
- General knowledge of the building industry and construction.
- Ability to perform significant walking during busy summer months, often on concrete.
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with the public.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Familiarity with security equipment.
- Ability to handle a physical workload.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrates values of integrity, communication, excellent service, and accountability.
- Willingness to participate in pre‑employment screening, background investigation.
