Mindak Commercial Construction, LLC in Lonsdale, MN, seeks 20 Helper – Carpenters for temporary, full‑time employment (12/03/2025 to 07/15/2026).
Responsibilities- Install wood structural components, move materials around the construction site, and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Erect and position braces.
- Clean work areas, machines, or equipment, to maintain a clean and safe job site.
- Fasten lumber with glue, screws, pegs, or nails and install hardware.
- Select tools, equipment, or materials from storage and transport items to the work site.
- Align, straighten, plumb, or square forms for installation.
- Cut lumber or paneling to specified dimensions.
- Drill holes in lumber.
- Position and hold timbers, lumber, or paneling in place for fastening or cutting.
- Understand and observe all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or coworkers.
- May perform other job duties pursuant to 47‑3012, Helpers – Carpenters.
35+ hours per week. 9‑hour shifts between 7:00 am and 4:30 am. 5–6 days per week, Mon–Sat. Schedule (including workdays) may vary. May work more than the guaranteed hours. May work overtime. OT varies and must be pre‑approved.
Qualifications- No formal education, training or experience required. On‑the‑job training will be provided.
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in construction.
- Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
- Good teamwork and collaboration effort.
- Strong problem‑solving, multi‑tasking and organizational skills.
Must be able to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis and up to 100 pounds on an occasional basis; prolonged standing and frequent bending, stooping, and reaching is required on a daily basis. A full range of physical motion is required to operate manual and electrically powered tools, sprayers, and construction‑related equipment.
The ability to move throughout the building, including climbing stairs and working at heights from ladders or scaffolding, is required. Work is performed indoors and outdoors, occasionally in dusty, noisy, or hazardous environments.
The H‑2B Temporary Helper – Carpenters will perform job duties at 130 Delaware Street SE, Lonsdale, MN 55046 and at multiple worksites within the area of intended employment, including Rice, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, and Washington counties.
Compensation$20.23 per hour; overtime $30.35 per hour.
Benefits- Daily transportation to and from worksites provided, or employee may report directly to the worksite.
- Option to use employer‑provided housing for $150 per week, costs deducted from paycheck if elected.
- Option to secure own lodging.
- Employer will deduct payroll taxes and any necessary legal deductions from the employee’s paycheck.
- Employer will arrange and pay for transportation and subsistence from place of recruitment to place of work.
- First‑week reimbursement for visa, processing, border crossing, and related fees (excluding passport fees).
- Daily subsistence provided at a rate of at least $16.28 per day during travel, up to $68.00 per day with receipts.
- Return transportation and subsistence to home or original departure location provided if the worker is dismissed before the contract ends and has no subsequent H‑2B employment.
- Guarantee of at least three‑quarters of the workdays in each 12‑week period of the total employment period.
