Loads and unloads crops and materials manually or using conveyors, hand trucks, forklifts, and transfer augers. Mixes specified materials or chemicals and loads solutions, powders, or seeds into planting and spraying equipment. Applies fertilizer and pesticide solutions using hand or mechanical sprayers to control insects, weeds, fungus, and crop diseases. Observes machinery operation to detect malfunctions and manipulates controls to set, activate, and adjust equipment.
Operates and tends agricultural equipment including tractors, self-propelled combines, irrigation equipment, seed drills, manure spreaders, and other towed machinery to till soil; plant, cultivate, fertilize, spray, harvest, and store grain crops. Attaches farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, and harvesters to tractors using hand tools. Performs routine maintenance and reports equipment malfunctions to supervisors.
Loads hoppers, containers, and conveyors to feed machines; guides products on conveyors to regulate flow and remove damaged products; positions boxes or attaches bags at discharge points; weighs crop-filled containers and records identifying information. Directs and monitors work crews during planting, weeding, and harvesting activities. Drives trucks to haul crops, supplies, tools, and farm workers.
Minimum Education RequiredHigh School/GED
Minimum Experience RequiredMinimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. Workers must have positive verifiable experience relevant to the job and be capable of performing physically demanding tasks. Workers must be able to speak English.

Job BenefitsEMPLOYER ASSURANCES:
Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts.
Required work-related tools and supplies provided free of charge by employer.
Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year.
