General Maintenance TechnicianFull Time, Lancaster, MN, US
Position SummaryThe General Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks on equipment and facilities located at several land ports of entry in the North Dakota and Minnesota area. The ideal candidate must be able to pass a government background investigation and drug screening.
Role and Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and facilities, including HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and structural components.
- Respond to maintenance requests and troubleshoot issues to ensure timely and effective resolutions.
- Conduct inspections and monthly preventive maintenance to identify potential problems and mitigate risks.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and repairs.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols.
- Collaborate with other maintenance staff and contractors to complete projects efficiently.
- Provide emergency response and repairs as needed to minimize downtime and maintain operational integrity.
- Operate and maintain tools and equipment necessary for maintenance tasks.
- Assist in the implementation of maintenance schedules and procedures.
- Must respond to a Priority 1 work order immediately (including weekends and holidays) and communicate status to Tigua to be entered into Maximo.
- Must respond to a Priority 2 work order via phone call within 30 minutes and be onsite within 1 hour plus travel.
- Must respond to a Priority 3 work order within 30 days.
- Heavy lifting of up to 50–80 lbs.
- Available for after‑hours support and weekend on‑call support as needed.
- Possess HSPD‑12 clearance, preliminary background check and drug screen.
- Travel requirement with possible overnight stays as required.
- OSHA‑10 Certification or ability to complete within the first 30 days (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in maintenance or related field preferred.
- 2–3 years’ experience in basic electrical, mechanical, and computer technology.
- May be required to serve a probationary period.
- An Employment and Financial Interest Statement is required.
- This position requires a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
Must be able to pass a government background investigation.

- Neche, ND
- Lancaster, MN
- Roseau, MN
Travel to and from each port of entry is required. Maida and Roseau are the two outermost ports and are 4 hours apart. The four remaining ports are between Maida and Roseau.
Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full‑time position, Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as duties demand.
