Pay: $20-24/hour (Based on Experience)

This Field Technician role supports groundwater drilling and service operations, working both in the shop and in the field to assist with water well systems and environmental monitoring. You will help collect soil and water samples, install monitoring wells, and support the monitoring and protection of groundwater resources. The position offers hands‑on mechanical work, equipment exposure, and opportunities to develop skills in drilling, construction, and field operations.

• Assist with the collection of soil and water samples from project sites to support groundwater monitoring and protection efforts.
• Help install, maintain, and service monitoring wells and related groundwater systems under the direction of experienced team members.
• Work in the shop to assemble and disassemble pumps and related components, ensuring equipment is clean, organized, and ready for field use.
• Perform light painting, pipe handling, shafting work, wire cleaning, and basic mechanical tasks on field equipment in the shop.
• Support field operations as a laborer by moving materials, staging equipment, and maintaining a clean and safe work area.
• Dig holes, trenches, and work areas as needed to support drilling, well installation, and construction‑related tasks.
• Assist equipment operators and drillers in setting up, operating, and breaking down drilling and probing equipment.
• Follow safety procedures and guidelines while working outdoors year‑round in varying weather conditions.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and basic equipment safely and effectively as directed.
• Routinely lift and carry materials up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds as part of daily tasks.
• Travel to project sites as needed, including occasional out‑of‑town assignments and per diem travel jobs.
• Work overtime when necessary to meet project deadlines and support field operations.
• Collaborate with at least one other team member on each assignment, staying on task and communicating effectively with supervisors and coworkers.

• Willingness and ability to work outdoors year‑round in varying weather conditions.
• Experience with operating equipment in a construction, drilling, landscaping, or similar environment.
• Mechanical aptitude with experience using hand tools and power tools for assembly, disassembly, and basic repairs.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Ability to routinely lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
• Willingness to work overtime when necessary and to perform occasional out‑of‑town work.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and instructions while working in both shop and field environments.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude while working as part of a team.

• Experience with Geoprobe drilling or assisting with Geoprobe operations.
• Experience in general labor, landscaping, concrete work, or construction.
• Experience with equipment operation in industrial, construction, or field service settings.
• Mechanical experience or interest in working on pumps, piping, and field equipment.
• Interest in obtaining a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), with a pay rate increase available upon acquisition.
• Eligibility for and interest in participating in a CDL financial assistance program.
• Comfort working with tools and materials such as pipe, shafting, and wiring in a shop environment.
