We are looking for a skilled Master Electrician to join our maintenance team at a meat packaging facility. You will ensure the safe and efficient operation of the plant’s electrical systems, equipment, and machinery while adhering to safety protocols.
Responsibilities- Install, service, and repair lighting fixtures, electrical panels, outlets, and wiring.
- Operate power, hand tools, and specialized electrical equipment.
- Construct and maintain service equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical circuit diagrams.
- Requisition materials and supplies from the stockroom and recommend purchases.
- Transfer primary power from one source to another.
- Install conductors, splice cables, build terminations, and hang primary power lines.
- Perform trades work incidental to electrical responsibilities.
- Repair, maintain, install, and modernize electrical systems for buildings, equipment, and grounds.
- Locate and diagnose electrical malfunctions using test equipment.
- Repair malfunctions by replacing burnt elements, fuses, wiring, and cleaning motors.
- Test electrical equipment such as motors, heaters, and controls for safety and efficiency.
- Inspect circuits for specified shielding and grounding.
- Perform other duties as required by manager or supervisor.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Master Electrician Certification from the State of Minnesota.
- Preferred:
Bachelor of Science degree with 3+ years of relevant experience, preferably in the food industry. - Fluent reading and writing in English.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact productively with all levels of personnel and contractors.
- Preferred: ability to operate a forklift, genie lift, or scissor lift.
- Obtained Lockout/Tagout, Hazmat certifications, and confined space training.
- Physical requirements:
stand, sit, walk, push, pull, climb, reach overhead, bend, and lift up to 100 pounds occasionally. - Work in a production environment with high noise levels, moving equipment, animal fat, grease, chemicals, heat, cold, and wet conditions.
- Display sound judgment, organizational skills, and ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis.
