Installation Technician
This position involves layout, wiring, and mounting of hydraulics, electronics, and PTOs on custom truck bodies. It requires setting up and operating machines to cut, bend, saw, and punch steel into custom parts needed for body mounting. The role also involves using overhead chain hoists, forklifts, handcarts, and other types of hand and power tools.
Responsibilities- Layout, wire, and mount hydraulics, electronics, and PTOs on custom truck bodies.
- Set up and operate machines to cut, bend, saw, and punch steel into custom parts.
- Use overhead chain hoists, forklifts, handcarts, and various hand and power tools.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and measuring devices accurately.
- Operate hand plasma and wire feed welding equipment.
- Ensure proper assembly and installation of mechanical and electrical components.
- Troubleshoot issues in production and resolve them efficiently.
- Six months experience with heavy installation, preferably on vehicles.
- Basic understanding of hydraulics, PTO, frames, pumps, electrical controls, and wiring.
- Proficiency in basic math for machine setup and accurate measurement.
- Ability to read blueprints and other measuring devices such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.
- Physical ability to pick, push, and move objects up to 50 lbs, bend, twist, carry, work overhead, kneel, crouch, and climb.
- Capability to stand on a concrete floor wearing steel-toed shoes throughout the shift.
Skills & Qualifications
- Preferred experience with hand plasma and wire feed welding.
- Experience in troubleshooting and problem-solving in a production environment.

Work EnvironmentThe work takes place in a large open factory/plant floor with dim lighting due to welding stations. The facility is equipped with large overhead cranes and has good ventilation. The environment is heavy industrial, with exposure to grease, oil, heat, humidity, and occasionally cramped quarters or wet conditions. Employees must meet physical requirements such as climbing ladders and using creepers under chassis.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of LAKE CRYSTAL, MN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
