Job Description
The primary duties of a Fence Technician are to conduct tasks involved with the installation of fences for customers. This includes site preparation, operating equipment, working with team members. The position will require experience or knowledge of equipment, and safely working near equipment. A person in this position must represent Grassland Solutions in a professional manner by respecting customers’ property and communicating effectively with customers and additional team members.
Other jobs can consist of fence removal, tree removal, snow plowing, fence maintenance and equipment repair. Some paperwork and documentation are necessary in this position. Safety is the number one priority when working on the jobsite, in company equipment, and in the yard, requiring proper PPE for given conditions.
- Knowledge or experience in the fields of Agriculture, Fencing, Construction and/or Mechanics
- Ability to lift/carry 75-100 lb. at once
- Experience operating equipment safely
- Possession of a valid driver’s license
- Ability to work as a part of a team
- Work week typically consists of 40+ hours per week.
- Employees must obtain and maintain any required licensing or certifications necessary for completing daily work activities
- Communicate with customers respectfully as a professional representative of Grassland Solutions, Inc.
- Responsible for necessary paperwork and documentation on job site to be communicated back to the office employees.
- Accountable for vehicle, equipment and tools/supplies on the job site.
- Help maintain a safe and productive working environment on job site.
- Assist in maintaining the essential four elements (Fuel/oil, Gas, Tools, and Batteries).
- Occasional long hours in adverse site conditions.
- Occasional overnight stays may be required for the position.
