Diesel Technician, Trailer Technician, and Hydraulic Technician Positions

Blaine Brothers is a Minnesota-based, third-generation family-owned business with locations across the Twin Cities and greater Minnesota. We are actively hiring Diesel Technicians, Trailer Technicians, and Hydraulic Technicians at the following locations:

  • Blaine, MN
  • Columbus, MN
  • Inver Grove Heights, MN
  • Fridley, MN

Schedule:

Multiple shifts available —2nd shift and 3rd shift opportunities at various locations. 10% Pay Differential on 2nd and 3rd Shift!

Benefits:

Wage: $25/hr-40/hr + (Competitive pay based on skillset and experience)

Diesel Technician
  • Perform repairs on diesel trucks
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, disassemble vehicles and examine parts for defects and excessive wear
  • Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems such as power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, and hydraulics; complete machine shop operations; make adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units
  • Inspect the overall condition of trucks to ensure they meet U.S. Department of Transportation safety requirements
  • Compile inspection reports detailing findings
  • Track all parts and materials used in repairs or replacements
  • Ensure the final work product meets quality standards
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area for customers and co-workers
Trailer Technician
  • Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identify worn and damaged parts
  • Perform repair and customization work including routine maintenance, brake replacement/repair, suspension repair, electrical and pneumatic and hydraulic component troubleshooting and repair, trailer body repair including complete trailer rebuild
  • Provide after-sale services such as component installation
  • Track all parts and materials used in repairs or replacements
  • Ensure the final work product meets quality standards
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area for customers and co-workers
Hydraulic Technician
  • Install new hydraulic systems on heavy-duty trucks (wet kits)
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic systems on trucks and other mobile equipment
  • Perform service calls to troubleshoot systems or perform testing
  • Disassemble hydraulic components (pumps, motors, valves, and cylinders) to identify the cause of failure; replace defective parts, reassemble, and test
  • Assemble hydraulic power units from drawings and schematics
  • Fabricate frames and brackets; perform general work with structural steel including welding and use of plasma torch, band saws, hand tools, tube bending equipment, and general shop tools
  • Track all parts and materials used in repairs or replacements
  • Ensure the final work product meets quality standards
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area for customers and co-workers
  • Must be willing to float to where shop demand is and work as a team player

We'd love to have you on our team. The ideal candidate would have the following skills:

  • Great work ethic
  • Willingness to jump in and help out where needed
  • Technical aptitude; basic electrical diagnostic/troubleshooting experience a plus
  • Welding experience a plus
  • Basic tool set and tool box to start (assistance programs available)
  • Ability to lift 50–100 lbs. occasionally and 10–50 lbs. frequently
