Location: Ely
The Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining a safe, functional, and efficient hospital environment through the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of building systems and equipment. This role supports daily facility operations by performing preventative and corrective maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and boiler systems while ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and infection prevention standards.
Responsibilities- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of boiler, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency calls.
- Troubleshoot and repair building systems, fixtures, and equipment.
- Assist in the maintenance of fire alarm, security, and safety systems.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and comply with hospital safety standards and codes.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure a safe and functional environment.
- Follow infection control procedures and ensure minimal disruption to patient care.
- $23.97 - $34.64 per hour. Wage based on current boiler licensure level and experience.
- Monday – Friday, day shift position with on-call rotation, evenings, weekends and/or holidays as needed.

- High-school diploma or equivalent required.
- One-year certificate from college or technical school or equivalent training in electricity, plumbing or other building trades required.
- Minimum of one-year experience required.
- Ability to read, write, and perform mathematical computations at a level required for successful job performance.
- Boiler's License:
At a minimum, MN Special Boiler License and will work towards continuation of increased boiler licensure up to 1st Class C Assistant Engineer. - Current MN Driver’s license with no unacceptable violations.
- Ability to navigate Building Automation System (BAS) software, Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software, and other software including but not limited to Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Ability to review and understand blueprints.
