Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Responsibilities
- Provide relief for Terminal Gauger.
- Maintain terminal buildings and grounds within the facility.
- Maintain tanks and tank pads along with the cleaning and winterizing of roof drains and the drainage of the tank lots.
- Maintain all terminal vehicles and motorized equipment.
- Act as company representative and witness metering proving and measurement checks on connecting carrier facilities and Enbridge‑owned metering facilities.
- Gauge storage tanks as required.
- Assist project teams with capital upgrades and maintenance.
- Assist operations staff in performing DOT‑required monthly tank inspections.
- Obtain crude oil samples and report lab analysis for deliveries to connecting carriers as required.
- Perform measurement and quality checks as required in Book5 Petroleum Quality and Measurement Manual.
- Issue work authorizations and safe‑work permits and oversee contractor work at company facilities as needed.
- Maintain terminal grounds: mow grass, clear snow, grade roads, clear ditches, culverts and flumes, and drain water.
- Check and maintain fire and safety equipment, including foam trailers, fire equipment, fire pumps and hydrants, fire extinguishers, respiratory protection equipment, gas detectors, and confined‑space rescue equipment.
- Maintain operator qualification requirements.
- Provide on‑call relief as needed.
- Provide emergency response for the terminal (oil spill and fire response).
- Physically able to perform heavy manual work, including climbing storage tanks and lifting up to 50pounds.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Ability to acquire a CDL ClassB license with air brakes, hazardous materials, and tank‑vehicle endorsements.
- Basic understanding and use of computers.
- Two years of experience in operations or maintenance for a crude‑oil pipeline, tank farm, or delivery facility (preferred).
- General knowledge of hydraulics with a construction or technical background (preferred).
- Positive attitude and strong math aptitude.
Field and office duties include training, meetings, and documentation of required tasks as required by the U.S. Department of Transportation and other regulatory agencies. Work outside in all types of weather, work at heights, perform work with respiratory protection (SCBA), shift work is required, and some travel may be required.
Physical Requirements- Balancing, bending, stooping, climbing, crawling.
- Carrying up to 53pounds, grasping, kneeling, lifting objects up to 72pounds.
- Pulling hand over hand, pushing, reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion.
- Sitting, standing, walking.
- Visual requirement: able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print.
- Hearing requirement.
- Understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information.
- Understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions.
- Organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology.
- Organize and prioritize work schedule on a short‑term basis.
- Make decisions that have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside that area.
- Understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines.
- Complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda, and basic reports.
- Communicate with individuals via telephone.
$38.16hourly USD for U.S. locations, based upon candidate’s experience, skills, and internal equity. Applicable compensation policies and guidelines apply to internal candidates.
