Job Overview:
Do you enjoy solving complex mechanical problems and serving as the go-to expert for equipment repair? Marvin is hiring a Senior Equipment Repair Technician to lead technical service operations within the Outdoor Power Department. This role is responsible for advanced diagnostics, complex repairs, equipment assembly, quality control, and department leadership across a wide range of outdoor power equipment. The position also supports retail operations through customer service, inventory management, and technical training for team members.
You’ll excel if you bring extensive small-engine repair expertise, strong troubleshooting abilities, and a commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. Experience mentoring technicians, leading service workflows, and maintaining compliance with industry standards will help this individual excel in the role. Compensation for this position is $26.00–$35.00 per hour.
Highlights of your role:
Serve as the lead technician for the Outdoor Power Department, providing technical expertise, workflow direction, and mentorship to team members. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex mechanical, electrical, fuel-system, hydraulic, and powertrain issues on outdoor power equipment, forklifts, and skid steers. Perform advanced repairs, component rebuilds, welding, fabrication, and preventative maintenance to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently. Assemble new equipment, conduct quality assurance inspections, and perform final performance testing to ensure compliance with manufacturer and safety standards.

Support inventory management, parts ordering, merchandising efforts, and customer consultations regarding equipment selection, maintenance, and repair needs. Maintain accurate service records while promoting compliance with OSHA, EPA, manufacturer safety standards, and shop quality-control processes.  You're a good fit if you have (or if you can): 4+ years of hands-on experience in small engine repair, outdoor power equipment service, or a related mechanical field.

EETC Principles of Small Engine Technology certification (required or the ability to obtain within a defined timeframe). Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, diagnostic documentation, and repair procedures. Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced retail and service environment while safely lifting and moving equipment as required.

Also want to make sure you have:
Additional EETC certifications, including Two-Stroke, Four-Stroke, Electrical, or Drivetrain specialties. Manufacturer certifications from Briggs & Stratton, Kohler, Honda, Stihl, or similar brands. Experience leading a service shop, coordinating workflows, or mentoring technicians. OSHA 10/30 certification or comparable safety training. Experience managing warranty repair processes and communicating with manufacturers. Knowledge of welding, fabrication, forklift maintenance, skid steer repair, and equipment assembly best practices.
