About the role
Johnson Controls Inc. is looking for forward‑thinking talent to join our HVAC business in North America. The role supports light and heavy commercial HVAC teams with advanced equipment and focuses on maintenance, repair, and service of commercial HVACR systems.
Responsibilities- Perform maintenance, repair, and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems.
- Partner with Journeymen to repair centrifugal, steam turbines, and open‑drive screw chillers.
- Provide customer service, including troubleshooting, solutions, and upselling opportunities.
- Prepare and provide quotes to support recommended solutions.
- Use vibration equipment and other tools to troubleshoot drives and mechanical components.
- Travel 10–20% to support branch customers.
- Participate in the Service Plus Rewards program.
- Member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen & Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL‑CIO.
- Minimum three (3) years of commercial/industrial HVAC troubleshooting experience, including rooftop units, pumps, fans, towers, boilers, chillers, compressors, plumbing.
- Experience with mechanical shaft alignment using dial indicators and vibration analysis.
- Familiarity with EPA refrigerants licensing and applicable state or local licensing.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Self‑starter with strong communication, detail orientation, and safety focus.
- Willingness to pass a knowledge examination and enroll in training programs.
- Hourly rate of $54.19, determined by the CBA/rate sheet.
