Highway Heavy Paving Equipment Operator

We are seeking experienced Highway Heavy Paving Equipment Operators to handle a variety of asphalt and concrete paving equipment safely and efficiently on major roadway, highway, and civil infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate values safety, precision, and teamwork, and is prepared for rigorous outdoor work.
Primary Responsibilities:- Operate and maintain paving equipment (e.g., asphalt pavers, rollers, milling machines, screeds, finishers, and material transfer vehicles).
- Set up, adjust, and monitor paving equipment to ensure proper asphalt depth, quality, and surface finish per project specifications.
- Read and interpret project plans, grades, stakes, and utilize GPS or other digital guiding technology as required.
- Assist with minor equipment repairs and perform pre- and post-operation inspections.
- Work closely with paving crews and foremen to ensure project timelines, quality, and safety expectations are met.
- Follow all KGM, OSHA, and MSHA safety protocols at all times.
- Travel to various job sites as necessary and work overtime when needed.
- Complete daily equipment activity logs and safety checklists.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 3 years of highway heavy paving equipment operating experience.
- Proficient operating paving equipment including, but not limited to: asphalt pavers, rollers, screeds, milling machines, and material transfer vehicles.
- Understanding of slope, grade, and elevation control, with experience using GPS-guided equipment preferred.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- MSHA and OSHA training certificates; new miner training if applicable.
- Willingness to travel and ability to work overtime.
- Ability to comply with all KGM, OSHA, and MSHA safety standards.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Experience in union work environments within the heavy construction or paving industry.
- Demonstrated ability to work with GPS or digital control systems on paving equipment.
- Additional training or certification in heavy equipment operations or construction management.
- Strong communication and collaborative skills.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing work demands and weather conditions.
