Commissioning Superintendent – Gas Power Generation

• Supervise commissioning activities to ensure safe, productive, quality work and controlled costs
• Assist site team with labor schedules, materials, tools, equipment, and subcontractors
• Provide technical expertise for power-generating construction projects
• Support installation guidance, QA/QC leadership, scheduling, and owner correspondence
• Direct Commissioning Foremen and support onboarding, training, mentoring, and development
• Maintain safe working conditions and enforce company, jobsite, federal, and state safety regulations
• Monitor Blattner and subcontractor work to maximize production and minimize costs
• Advise supervisory and field personnel on transmission lines, interconnect systems, switch gear, electrical circuits, power quality, high-voltage collection/distribution systems, and substations
• Verify qualified and trained personnel for switch/tag procedures, approach distances, arc flash, and protective equipment
• Communicate project problem areas to the Site Manager
• Monitor actual costs against estimates and report commissioning cost overruns
• Assist the Project Manager with testing and commissioning budgets, change orders, and budget changes
• Evaluate Commissioning Forepersons' safety and skills
• Support engineering review, procurement, construction, and startup of medium- or high-voltage electrical systems and substations
• Arrange engineering support and peer review for critical commissioning issues
• Identify opportunities to streamline work and reduce waste
• Audit electrical safety, LOTO, testing, energization, and commissioning programs
• Ensure testing and commissioning workers receive timely technical and safety training
• Mentor Commissioning Foremen on work discipline, production costs, scope, quality, and safety
• Perform additional assignments as directed

• Extensive construction field experience
• Valid driver license and acceptable motor vehicle driving record (MVR)
• Knowledge of Electrical Overhead Transmission, Electrical Underground and Collection systems, Substation Construction, Transmission Utility Interconnect, and Electrical Engineering Communication System
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Basic understanding of safety construction, commissioning, and testing electrical systems
• Ability to supervise many employees
• Good communication skills with owners, subcontractors, and employees
• Solid understanding of tracking job progress and costing
• Knowledge of National Electrical Testing Association (NETA)
• Knowledge of NFPA 70E
• Knowledge of SCADA systems
• Extensive travel required
• Ability to obtain state contractor license(s), journeyman or master electrician licenses, or PV licenses with corporate managers

Demonstrates expertise in supervising commissioning activities for power-generating construction projects, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and effective cost management. Proficient in mentoring teams and providing technical guidance on electrical systems and construction processes.
