Elementary Counselor or Elementary Social Worker 0.8 FTE

Position is open until filled.

Required Qualifications
  • School Counselor or School Social Worker License
  • Licensed Counselors and Social Workers may be given consideration
  • Licensed Teachers may be given consideration if no Highly Qualified Applicant is found

Compensation:
District Contract based on experience/qualifications $40,0000 minimum

Duties Description
  • Provide individual and small-group social-emotional counseling.
  • Develop and implement intervention plans for students experiencing behavioral, emotional, attendance, or family challenges.
  • Assist students in developing self-regulation, conflict resolution, coping, and executive functioning skills.
  • Support crisis intervention, risk assessments, and safety planning when necessary.
  • Assist in re-entry planning following hospitalization, mental health treatment, or extended absences
  • Lead MTSS and Response Teams.
  • Build strong partnerships with families through consistent communication and collaboration.
  • Connect families with community resources including mental health services, housing, food assistance, healthcare, and county agencies.
  • Conduct home visits when appropriate.
  • Monitor attendance concerns and support interventions for chronic absenteeism.
  • Collaborate with administration regarding attendance plans.
  • Assist families in identifying barriers affecting school attendance.
  • Work with county agencies when legally required.
  • Consult regularly with teachers regarding student behavioral and emotional needs.
  • Collaborate with school counselors, psychologists, special education staff, nurses, and administrators.
  • Respond to student mental health emergencies.
  • Participate on the school's crisis response team.
  • Coordinate with outside agencies during emergency situations.
  • Support students and staff following traumatic events.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and confidential student records.
  • Follow district policies, ethical standards, and state/federal regulations.
  • Perform other duties assigned.
