What You'll Do:
The Vocational Rehabilitation Coordinator (VRC) supports adults with disabilities in finding and maintaining meaningful, community-based employment aligned with their strengths and interests. This role manages a dynamic caseload, coordinates Vocational Rehabilitation Services from intake through job placement, and builds strong relationships
with counselors, employers, and community partners. The VRC independently assesses referrals, develops person-centered vocational profiles and job plans, supports onboarding and short-term job retention, and ensures accurate documentation and billing. This position requires strong communication skills, critical thinking, flexibility, and a passion for inclusive employment and community integration.
- Manage a dynamic caseload of individuals receiving Vocational Rehabilitation Services
- Help individuals find and retain community-based, competitive employment aligned with their strengths and interests
- Coordinate intakes, assess referrals, and manage authorized VRS services
- Develop person-centered vocational profiles, job development plans, resumes, and portfolios
- Build strong relationships with Vocational Rehabilitation counselors, transition schools, and community employers
- Conduct job development, employer outreach, job tryouts, and job coaching supports
- Support onboarding, training, and short-term job retention after placement
- Navigate complex billing, documentation, and reporting requirements independently
- Coordinate transitions from VRS to long-term, waivered employment supports
- Ensure timely, accurate documentation and compliance with all policies and regulations
Required (Must-Have):
Must meet one of the following education and experience pathways:
- Two-year degree plus two years of experience working with individuals with disabilities
- Four years of experience working with individuals with disabilities in lieu of a degree
- Ability to pass a Department of Human Services background check
- Acceptable driving record to operate a vehicle while on duty
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and provide physical assistance to program participants
Skills & Abilities:
- Four-year degree strongly preferred
- Commitment to supporting full community integration and competitive employment for individuals with disabilities
- Ability to teach, coach, and support individuals in employment settings
- Strong interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to manage time effectively, problem-solve, and work independently
