Position Overview
Nexus Family Healing is hiring Youth Care Professionals for our Mille Lacs agency in Onamia, MN
. Nexus‑Mille Lacs offers trauma‑informed, family‑centered, nationally recognized treatment for boys, ages 10‑19, with significant mental health issues and harmful sexual behaviors. - Full‑time or part‑time
- Compensation: $20 – $22 an hour
- Required availability: 6:30 am‑3 pm; 1:30 pm‑10 pm
- Block scheduling (Tuesday‑Saturday & Sunday‑Thursday)
- Commute incentive up to $670 every two weeks

- Supervise client daily activities and behavior according to established trauma‑informed, strengths‑based guidelines
- Collaborate with coworkers as a team to implement trauma‑informed treatment plans and therapeutic services
- Ensure client emotional and physical safety and maintain a positive, respectful, clean, strengths‑based, therapeutic environment
- Assist with off‑campus client activities and transportation for home visits, doctor appointments, and recreational activities
- Work effectively with clients’ families and support networks to reinforce positive family partnerships
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum age 18 years
- Valid driver’s license and comply with Nexus and state driving requirements
- Successful DHS criminal background check
- All client‑facing employees must complete the Handle With Care behavior intervention method exam and training
- Experience working with families and trauma‑exposed children and adolescents in a residential treatment or counseling capacity
- Assist staff in physical interventions and restraints of clients
- Lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance
