Job DescriptionEDU-AIDs is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified School Counsellor to join our team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will support students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral well-being while helping create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment. The School Counsellor will work collaboratively with students, families, educators, and school staff to promote student success and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individual and small-group counseling services to students addressing academic, social, emotional, and behavioral concerns.
- Conduct assessments and identify students who may benefit from counseling interventions and support services.
- Develop and implement strategies to promote social-emotional learning, conflict resolution, and positive coping skills.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, administrators, parents, and child study teams to support student achievement and well-being.
- Assist with crisis intervention and provide appropriate referrals to community resources when necessary.
- Participate in IEP, 504, and multidisciplinary team meetings as required.
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely student records in compliance with school policies and regulations.
- Monitor student progress and recommend appropriate interventions and support plans.
- Participate in professional development and training activities as required.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive school environment for all students.
- Valid certification or licensure as a School Counsellor in the applicable state.
- Master's degree in School Counseling, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
- Previous experience working in a school-based setting preferred.
- Knowledge of child and adolescent development, counseling techniques, and crisis intervention strategies.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to establish positive relationships with students, families, and school personnel.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
