Candidate will have played, competed in, or coached the sport or activity at the high school or college level. Candidates must complete all Northfield and MSHSL professional development requirements and pass a criminal background check. Head coaches must have or be able to obtain a Head Coaching License or appropriate certification.

Open Until Filled – EOE (2/18/2026). Employment is contingent upon completion of a background check.

Accountable to:
Head Coach, Activities Director, and Principal.

Primary Objective:
To assist the head coach in selection, instruction, training, and conditioning of all athletes/teams assigned to him/her by the head coach. Northfield Schools, the Principal, and Athletics/Activities Director expect not only the skills, abilities, and commitments of its coaches but also their integrity and common sense in performing their duties.

• Demonstrate and generate among staff players an attitude of good sportsmanship and fair play by adhering to the Coach's Code of Ethics.
• Know and administer the policies, procedures, and guidelines set forth in the Coaches' Handbook, Conference, and sport policies, and supervise assistant coaches in carrying them out as they apply to the assignment.
• Carry out responsibilities as designated by the head coach.
• Provide for the health, safety, and well‑being of team members.
• Actively work to create a culture free from hazing and initiations.
• Adhere to the starting and ending dates for the sport.
• Be aware of all MSHSL rules that pertain to the sport.
