Hours:
Monday thru Friday: 12:00pm to 7:30pm2 days per week Position Objective The Courier is responsible for efficiently and accurately transporting specimens for Provider ordered lab tests and transportation of materials and supplies. The route the courier will take includes routine and variable stops.
Essential Responsibilities The following description of responsibilities to be performed is not intended to be all-inclusive. Rather, it focuses on the major tasks that must be accomplished.
Ensure timely, safe, and accurate delivery of specimens and supplies within Alexandria and surrounding communities utilizing the Alomere Health’s courier vehicle
Utilize technology available for tracking specimens
Work with laboratory supervisor to plan routes
Ensure the most efficient route is travelled each day, with minimal delays or deviations from planned route
Work with hospital, clinic, and client team members to ensure transportation needs are met Other Responsibilities Perform all other related duties as assigned in a professional and responsive manner
Demonstrate the ability to use relevant equipment
Support, understand, and promote Alomere Health’s mission, vision, values, policies and procedures
Ability to meet the work schedule requirements with flexibility dependent upon the needs of the department
Foster respectful working relationships with professional colleagues, patients, families, and general public regardless of age, gender, lifestyle, culture, beliefs, race, socioeconomic class, or ability
Required Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent
Valid driver’s license
21 years of age or older
Satisfactory driving record. Driving record will be verified annually.
Complete transportation of dangerous good training or complete within 2 weeks of hire
Preferred Qualifications Prior courier experience
Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities
Strong skill in communication, make sure needs are relayed and information is communicated
