School Bus & Van Drivers (Regular & Substitute Positions)
Earn competitive pay and make a positive impact on local students every day. The Le Sueur-Henderson Public School District is seeking dependable individuals to serve as School Bus and Van Drivers.
We provide paid training and cover costs related to obtaining the school bus endorsement for qualified candidates. If you already hold a CDL or are interested in working toward the required school bus endorsement, we encourage you to apply.
Compensation & Earnings- $45 per route (AM and PM)
- $30/hour for additional CDL‑required driving (activities, extra routes)
- Additional earning opportunities include activity trips, midday routes, and special transportation assignments.
We provide support and cover costs related to obtaining your school bus endorsement.
Training includes: school bus endorsement preparation and testing support, paid behind‑the‑wheel training hours, paid time for required written tests, and applicable licensing/certification fees. Our team will guide you through the process to help you get qualified and on the road.
- Split shifts (morning and afternoon routes)
- Midday flexibility, great for parents, retirees, or second jobs
- No nights or weekends (except optional activities)
- Summers and school holidays off (optional work may be available)
- Ability to pass background check, drug test, and physical
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to student safety
- No prior bus driving experience required – we'll train you!
- Safely transport students to and from school and activities using a school bus or van
- Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections
- Maintain appropriate student behavior on the bus or in the vehicle
- Follow all district and Minnesota state transportation regulations
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and school staff
- Supportive and welcoming work environment

- Reliable and consistent hours during the school year
