WHAT YOU'LL DO:
As a Ready-Mix Driver, you will deliver ready-mixed concrete and related products to construction job sites within a reasonable proximity due to the perishability of ready-mixed concrete. The daily work schedule may consist of up to 10+ hour days, with overtime on a voluntary or mandatory basis on weekdays and Saturdays, depending on business level requirements.

- Pre‑trip inspection of ready‑mix truck pursuant to D.O.T. regulations.
- Fill water tank before each delivery by placing rubber hose into the tank and filling after checking that all valves are shut.
- Upon receiving delivery ticket, drive or back the truck under the plant (depending on plant configuration) and charge the mixer to receive concrete, taking any admixtures or other ancillary products listed on the ticket.
- Safely drive the truck to the jobsite and arrive with the desired slump within customer or job specifications.
- In the event of unstable ground conditions, safely maneuver the truck and observe the customer’s equipment and conditions.
- Add necessary ingredients such as fibers, chemicals, foam admixtures, cements, or integral colors at the plant or jobsite, as well as other products.
- Place chutes from the fender or hanging rack onto the main chute at the rear of the truck for discharge; after discharging, wash the chutes in the washout system or other appropriate location as directed by the contractor and restore them to the appropriate location on the truck.
- Prior to leaving the jobsite, complete all paperwork and collect any monies if necessary.
- After each shift, wash the truck with a hose and brush, using cleaning solution when necessary.
- Communicate with dispatch via two‑way radio and use the truck status signaling system.
- At the end of the shift, submit all paperwork, place cash COD in the envelope, and secure it in the locked box.
- Call the schedule each day for start time.
- Perform a post‑trip inspection of the truck pursuant to DOT regulations at the end of each shift.
- Maintain effective working relationships with company employees, suppliers, and customers, promoting a professional image and ensuring timely problem resolution and customer satisfaction.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A or
B. - Pass Federal Department of Transportation drug screen and physical, and obtain DOT Medical Card.
- Ability to safely operate a truck and perform tasks that are congruent with company policy and within state and federal laws.
