Shipping & Receiving Technician – Litchfield, MN
Opal Foods is currently accepting applications for the position of Shipping & Receiving for our Litchfield, MN
processing location. This position is primarily responsible for working in the cooler shipping palletized cartons and crates of our eggs to vendors and customers, and also working in the warehouse receiving product packaging and other supplies, and counting inventory. May assist with other projects and duties as needed. Working hours include some weekend and holiday hours to meet customer requirements. Must have excellent work ethic and be extremely reliable and punctual.
Position Responsibilities:
- Follow all Opal Foods Policies and Procedures including but not limited to Safety, Bio-security, FDA, SQF and GMP
- Able to count accurately and learn automated inventory system
- Set up work area and prepare for the day
- Inspect, receive and document all incoming trailers for cleanliness, pests, odors and seals
- Set outgoing refrigerated trailers to the correct temperature
- Load and seal pre-cooled trailers with finished product
- Assign loads to drivers
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of cooler and warehouse
- Inspect, receive and document all incoming loads of packaging materials and supplies
- Unload deliveries into cooler and warehouse
- Check and accurately document inventory daily in cooler and in warehouse
- Help team members with other duties as needed throughout the day
Requirements: (knowledge, experience, skills, education)
- Experience operating ride-on pallet jack and forklift
- Able to lift approximately 80 pounds from height of 2 feet to 5 feet and lift 50 pounds from 6 feet to ground level
- Able to maintain a fast pace for up to 3 hours continually
- Able to work in both cold and very hot environments – Requires year-round work including outdoors, in cooler, in warehouse, in cooled trailers and in very hot trailers during summer months
- Good verbal communication skills and the ability to develop professional rapport with a diverse group of drivers and co-workers
- Ability to communicate verbally and verify documents in English
- Must be dependable and be able to work flexible hours any day of the week, including weekends and holidays
- Requires walking, standing, turning, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination
